Persimmon Homes has finally been given the go ahead for a £20m housing scheme in Solihull.
Solihull council had refused consent for the 125-home scheme last year. However, following an appeal decision this week plans for the 13-acre site in Marston Green have now been approved.
The government inspector concluded that the scheme should go ahead due to “a significant shortfall in deliverable housing land supply”.
Richard Oldroyd, managing director at Persimmon Homes (South Midlands), said: “Obtaining planning consent for the Moat House Farm development is a major landmark for both Persimmon Homes and the local area.”
The housebuilder had argued that Solihull council could not demonstrate an up-to-date five-year supply of deliverable housing.
