KOP wins consent for Trinity Square

Singaporean property development and investment firm KOP Properties has been granted planning permission for the redevelopment of 10 Trinity Square in the City of London, EC3.

KOP Properties’ joint venture with the Beijing-based investment group Reignwood Group will transform the historic Grade II listed building into 41 luxury serviced residences, a 120-bedroom hotel, restaurant, two bars, members’ club and a spa. Work will begin in Q3 2012 and complete in Q4 2014.

Serviced residences, ranging from 1,300 sq ft to 9,000 sq ft, will offer a mixture of two- to four-bedroom units and penthouses distributed over the third to seventh floors of the building.

The hotel will be operated by KOP Hotels & Resorts – a subsidiary of KOP Group – and will sit across the ground to third levels of 10 Trinity Square. It will include eight suites, averaging 870 sq ft.

10 Trinity Square represents KOP Properties’ first development venture into the European marketplace.

KOP Properties’ chief executive Leny Suparman said: “Our vision is for 10 Trinity Square to become a new global destination on the edge of the City of London, with a very British DNA and a timeless, classic appeal. Surrounded by old world elegance and new age luxury and with unrivalled views of the London skyline, 10 Trinity Square really will be the ultimate destination address in the City, both for residents and visitors to the property.”

Charles Leigh, senior director at CBRE, which has been appointed as sales agent for the residences, said: “The City of London is now universally recognised as an area of growth for residential real estate prices but opportunities for high quality developments are limited. The location and the quality of the scheme, make a compelling argument for strong early growth.”
