London Dungeon plans South Bank move

Merlin Entertainments has submitted a planning application to relocate its famous London Dungeon on Tooley Street, SE1, to the former home of the Greater London Council on the South Bank.

If granted permission by Lambeth council, the horror-themed attraction will occupy the ground floor and basement of the former GLC building, which was also once home to the Dali Universe gallery.

The move would potentially make room for Network Rail’s proposed revamp of London Bridge station, which includes a new ground-level concourse bigger than the pitch at Wembley stadium.

The latest plans will come before the council on 24 April.

London Dungeon has been in Tooley Street since 1977. Merlin said it was still examining other relocation possibilities.
