Hutchison Whampoa has now secured the final consent to begin its redevelopment of the Lots Road power station site, SW10.
The developer had sought an amendment to its existing permission for a mixed-use scheme adjacent to Chelsea Harbour.
Under the latest approval for the Terry Farrell-designed project, Hutchison will develop 297 homes, of which 110 will be affordable. The existing consent was for 382 flats, of which 213 were affordable; however, the developer presented Hammersmith & Fulham council with a viability assessment to say this initial number of affordable flats was not viable.
Circadian, a joint venture between Hutchison and what was originally Taylor Woodrow, was the initial applicant for the first 2006 plans. Hutchison is now the sole applicant.
