Legal & General Property has promoted head of research Rob Martin to the board of directors.
Martin, who joined the company from Hammerson in 2006, oversees in-house forecasting and house views, the investment process, thematic research projects and performance analysis. Barbora Melezinkova also joins the team as performance analyst.
Managing director Bill Hughes said: “Rob’s appointment to the LGP board is testament both to the significant contribution he has made to LGP and the central position that our research platform plays in directing our investment process and enabling us to monitor fund performance.”
Martin said: “More than ever, the performance of the property market is intimately tied to outcomes in the economy and wider asset markets. Blending the expertise in the wider investment management business with our own grasp of property fundamentals enables us to identify practical strategies in support of robust and consistent outperformance for clients.”
Legal and General Property has £10.6bn worth of assets under management as of December 30 2011.
