Planning permission has been secured by British Waterways and developer Bloc to regenerate the Northwich Marina in Cheshire.
The plans by the jv, H20, comprise a McCarthy & Stone 58-home retirement village, a 18,000 sq ft Waitrose, a new marina and waterside restaurants.
Richard Thomas, director of Bloc and development manager for H2O, said: “We can now start to regenerate this long under-used and mostly vacant site.”
Following consent from Cheshire West and Cheshire council, construction will begin by the end of the year.
