Administrators at BDO have sold Aston Hall hotel near Sheffield to a private investor off an asking price of £3.2m.
The 52-bedroom hotel and wedding venue is thought to have been sold to the Lavin family. The property was built around 1772 as a private house. It later became a nursing home before being converted into a hotel 2005, with restaurant, bars, a gym and conference facilities.
The property’s previous owner, Tomahawk Hotels, went into administration in 2010.
Philip Gibson, partner at Edward Symmons, which acted for BDO, said: “The sale follows on from our successful sale of Woodlands Hotel, which formed part of the same portfolio, earlier this year. The sale price we achieved reflects the calibre of the asset and serves as evidence of continued appetite in the market for high quality regional hotels.
“The joint administrators have also instructed us to market the remaining hotel in the group, the 70 bedroom Great Victoria in Bradford, and we are confident that it, too, will command a healthy price point.”
