Nama names new CFO

Nama has promoted Donal Rooney to chief financial officer to assist chief executive Brendan McDonagh.

Rooney has been working for Nama’s portfolio management and asset recovery divisions since May 2010. He previously worked for Arthur Andersen, before joining KPMG, where he was a director in its audit and advisory division.

His appointment comes after former HSBC chief executive Mike Geoghegan recommended in his report on Nama last year that a chief financial officer be appointed to ease the workload of McDonagh.

The role was advertised internationally.
