Realty Estates, the property company owned by entrepreneur Yousef Tishbi, has unveiled its plans for an 800,000 sq ft scheme on the site of the BBC’s former Manchester HQ.
It will submit plans next month for a Feilden Clegg Bradley-designed scheme comprising homes, student flats, offices, a hotel, a supermarket, shops and parking as well as public exhibition, broadcast and performance space.
The scheme will be built on a 5.4-acre site on Oxford Road, in an area identified by the council for regeneration. Demolition of the 327,000 sq ft New Broadcasting House will begin next month.
The BBC sold the site to Realty for around £10m last year ahead of the its move to Peel’s MediaCityUK.
Cheetham & Mortimer, Jones Lang LaSalle and GVA are acting for Realty; DPP is advising on planning.
