SEGRO’s was a story that last year’s judges found hard to resist.
Consider this: in the UK alone it achieved 245 leases – almost one per working day; it continued to drive down vacancy rates; it launched its own iPhone app; and in 2010 it saw EPRA profit before tax rise by 22.1% to £127.3m.
“It was,” said one judge, “another impressive performance from the company to beat in this category. SEGRO has delivered stunning deals, and a high volume of transactions.”
Its rivals will want to seize that crown in 2012. And if our news coverage of the industrial world is anything to go by, it’s a sector where success and innovation is not in short supply.
To convince our judges that they would make worthy winners in 2012, contenders will have to demonstrate their key achievements over the past 12 months. Evidence of deals success is also a prerequisite. So, too, will be evidence of innovation, financial success and client satisfaction.
Malcolm Hollis is sponsoring the award for Property Company of the Year – industrial and distribution
Over the past 12 months, the industrial market has experienced a level of growth that has outshone its more glamorous commercial property rivals. Malcolm Hollis is delighted to sponsor the Industrial Property Company of the Year award in order to recognise and reward those who have helped to keep this important market vibrant.
Property companies have had to adapt quickly to changing conditions, be that the shift away from the high street and increased demand for storage and delivery facilities, or the modernisation of what has traditionally been seen as the unsophisticated side of real estate. We look forward to seeing evidence of companies that have effectively managed to achieve growth, embraced new approaches or technologies in order to succeed and that, despite these difficult economic times, have shown real verve in this challenging sector, demonstrating initiative and intelligence.
Malcolm Hollis has been advising top industrial property companies for many years and understands what it takes to succeed in this sector. Entrants in this category will, no doubt, demonstrate similar levels of commercialism, client satisfaction and success.
