L&G’s Hughes takes junior VP role at BPF

Legal & General Property managing director Bill Hughes was this week named junior vice-president of the British Property Federation.


The appointment means Hughes, who is also chairman of the Green Property Alliance, will become president of the BPF in two years time.


The announcement was made at the BPF’s summer reception, where British Land chief executive­ Chris Grigg was sworn in as the new president, replacing Great Portland Estates chief executive Toby Courtauld.


Hughes said: “I look forward to strengthening the BPF’s voice on planning reform and the future of our high streets.”


Brockton Capital co-managing­ partner David Marks was named senior vice-president, and is in line to become president of the federation next July.
