Network Rail has unveiled its revamp of London Waterloo Station just in time for the London 2012 Games next week.
The company today opened the new 220m-long balcony, adding an extra 20,000 sq ft of retail space.
The balcony is part of Network Rail’s £25m improvement project for the station, which aims to smooth the journey for some 300,000 passengers passing through each day.
New brands opening at the station include Yo! Sushi, Fat Face, Hotel Chocolat, Oliver Bonas, Links of London, Pink and Joules.
Network Rail director of property David Biggs said: “As with the new western concourse at King’s Cross earlier this year, the Waterloo balcony project forms part of our wider retail strategy to create destination stations for both rail passengers and non-travelling customers.”
