Malaysians make £160m City splash

Sharia-compliant Malaysian fund Lembaga Tabung Haji and Gatehouse Banking are in talks to buy SJ Berwin’s prestigious City HQ at Thames Exchange, 10 Queen Street Place, EC4.

The duo are thought to have offered between £150m-£160m to buy the building off-market from Irish investors Jaguar Capital.

Jaguar bought the long leasehold from Aviva Investors for £145m, representing a 5.75% yield, in 2008.

SJ Berwin’s lease on the 221,198 sq ft block expires in December 2025.

Savills advised Lembaga Tabung Haji and Gatehouse Banking.
