CBRE reports that shopping space under construction has fallen to 6% of the overall retail pipeline.
The figure was nearly 20% before the 2007 financial crisis hit. CBRE says just 3.3m sq ft of the space under construction will be completed this year compared with 13.02m sq ft five years ago.
