Developer sought for Northampton EZ

A search has been launched to find a developer for the first phase of development at Northampton Enterprise Zone.

The West Northamptonshire Development Corporation is looking for a developer for the St Peter’s Waterside first phase at the Northampton EZ, which comprises 161,000 sq ft offices.

CBRE has been appointed to carry out the search for a developer. Expressions of interest are being sought with a view to releasing the site on a freehold basis.

Opposite the site, construction of a £20m railway station will start in 2013, while the site also borders a planned £7.5m innovation centre.

WNDC chief operating officer Roger Mendonca said: “St Peter’s Waterside is a central part of plans for the Northampton Enterprise Zone. Through a combination of direct investment and use of our development powers, we are taking action to progress the scheme

“With its riverside setting, transport links and enterprise zone benefits, the site has outstanding potential. We’re looking for a developer to grasp this opportunity and deliver a quality riverside development.”
