Chatham Place BIG

Muse Developments has won planning consent for the second phase of its £100m mixed-use Chatham Place scheme in Reading town centre.

The latest consent adds two further residential buildings of nine and 19 storeys, with ground floor shops. The whole scheme, which has consent, comprises 1.1m sq ft on 11 acres.

The first phase of development was completed in 2009, including 211 flats.

Thomasin Renshaw, development manager, Muse Developments, said: “We are very pleased to be granted planning approval for the second phase of our Chatham Place scheme. This is the result of a huge amount of hard work on the part of Reading borough Council, Muse and our development team to arrive at the best possible scheme.”

Construction will begin next year.
