Quintain Estates & Development has signed UK footwear brand Clarks as its final anchor store at the London Designer Outlet in Wembley, north London.
Clarks, which sells footwear in 35 countries, has agreed a 10-year lease for 5,300 sq ft at the LDO. It will open next year.
The signing completes the line-up of anchor stores for LDO and follows the recent commitment to the scheme by US fashion brand Max Studio, Marks & Spencer, GAP, Nike, Superdry and Guess.
Quintain has also secured restaurant brands, including TGI Friday’s, which recently opened. The four-star Wembley Hilton hotel opened in July.
LDO is the major retail and leisure element of Quintain’s 85-acre regeneration project, which is transforming 85 acres surrounding Wembley Stadium. The 350,000 sq ft development will include 15 restaurants, cafés and coffee shops, alongside 85 shops and a nine-screen Cineworld.
Phil Cottingham, head of retail at Quintain, said: “Clarks will be a major draw for local shoppers and international visitors alike, completing the strong line-up of international outlet brands. LDO will be London’s only designer outlet, so it’s essential that we offer strong retail brands that are familiar names both in the UK and to overseas shoppers. To this end, LDO and Clarks are a perfect fit.”
CBRE and Bruce Gillingham Pollard advised Quintain.
