Legal & General Property, on behalf of its Life Fund, has submitted plans for a makeover of 7-10 Hanover Square, W1.
It has proposed converting its 1950s office building into a new grade-A 58,000 sq ft MAKE Architects-designed scheme. Subject to planning consent from Westminster city council, construction would begin when leases at the property expire in 2014.
The majority of the building is to be offices, but the plan also includes two shops or a restaurant on the ground floor and, to the rear of the property on Princes Street, a separate residential building with five flats and a penthouse.
Simon Wilkes, head of business space development at Legal & General Property, said: “We feel that these carefully developed plans truly complement Westminster council’s vision for the area and will help support its elevation to become one of the pre-eminent business addresses in London following the completion of the Crossrail station directly opposite.”
Gerald Eve is advising on planning. Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed as letting agent.
