Andrews & Robertson sold the most expensive residential property at a UK auction in more than five years at its 5 November sale.
The freehold block of 38 self-contained flats in Blackheath, SE3, sold for £5m off a guide of £4.9m. It was the highest-priced residential sale at auction since March 2007.
Auctioneer Robin Cripp said it was an interesting property that had been owned by the same family since it was built in the 1960s.
“It is quite a feather in our cap,” he added. “We are not the biggest firm, but we are trusted to deal with these high-priced lots.”
The auction raised a total of £17.5m off a success rate of 72%.
