Boxpark to popup in Amsterdam

MAPIC 2012: Boxpark Amsterdam is set to launch in the Holland capital next summer.

Roger Wade, CEO of Boxpark, which owns the 20,000 sq ft popup mall in London’s Shoreditch, said the new scheme will have 120 units and will be a mix of retail and leisure. Boxpark will be working with Dutch retail developer Corio.

“Amsterdam is going to be a revolutionary multi-channel mall. It’s going to have a market, with a winter ice rink and DJ’s,” he said.

The new development will be in a former shipping hanger.

Wade added that he hoped to attract 50% of the retailers that are already in Shoreditch, which includes independents and international brands.
