A striking new view of London’s future skyline has been unveiled by the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership.
The partnership – which brings together local developers, landowners, the mayor of London, TFL, the GLA and Wandsworth and Lambeth councils – is helping to coordinate the transformation of one of London’s largest regeneration projects along a wide stretch of the South Bank.
Plans for the fast-developing stretch of the riverside include a cluster of tall buildings at Vauxhall, centred around Europe’s tallest residential tower, One Nine Elms, SW8.
It will also feature two new town centres around Vauxhall and Battersea Power Station.
More than 16,000 new homes are planned across the area, including 3,400 at Battersea Power Station and the 806 new homes already under construction at St James’ Riverlight mixed-use development.
Nine Elms programme manager Helen Fisher said: “The Nine Elms on the South Bank district will create 25,000 jobs as well as two new London Underground stations, river services, a brand new park and a bridge across the Thames. This 195-hectare riverside area will extend the life and vitality of London’s thriving South Bank, opening up a new area of London.”
