Taylor Wimpey has bought 150 acres of land at Emersons Green, near Bristol, which will see around 2,000 homes built over the next 10 years.
The housebuilder will ultimately invest more than £100m as a result of the deal, which was brokered by specialist land and development agent CJH Land.
The land was controlled by a consortium, with Gallagher Estates and Heron Homes owning 37.5% each, while Quintain owned the remaining 25%.
Matthew Hiles of CJH Land said: “From start to finish, the whole deal took about 12 months, which may sound like a long time, but considering the amount of work necessary to purchase a site of this size in three separate transactions, it is actually quite quick.”
