A joint venture between St Modwen and Goold Estates has submitted plans for a 90,000 sq ft retail and leisure development in Walsall town centre.
The proposals mark the next phase of the £90m St Matthew’s Quarter regeneration, which aims to transform the high street’s southern end into a retail offer.
The jv – known as Norton & Proffitt Developments – plans a 12,000 sq ft restaurant, plus 11 shops alongside a 1,000 space multistorey car park in this latest phase.
The St Matthew’s Quarter regeneration scheme has already delivered an Asda and 41 flats, while a 20,000 sq ft youth training centre opened in August.
