Plans lodged for 90-home golf course

Bloor Homes has lodged plans for a redevelopment of Churston Golf Club in Devon,  including a 14,000 sq ft club house.

The plans for the scheme have been submitted to Torbay council.

Permission was secured in June for 90 new homes and a 42-bed care home.

Barton Willmore is advising on planning.

Barton Willmore associate architect Gareth Howell said: “This is a great opportunity to bring Churston’s 125-year-old club into the twenty-first century and compete with others in the region.

“Leisure and tourism are fundamental to the area’s economy, so by upgrading the facilities and diversifying the land use on the site, we’re ensuring the club’s long-term viability.”
