Allsop raises £43m at London sale

High-quality investment stock was in favour at Allsop’s latest commercial auction, which raised £43m.


Some 122 lots were offered at the 4 December sale at the Park Lane Hotel, W1, of which 94 sold, including eight prior, equating to a success rate of 78%.


Receivership sales made up 35% of the total auction value, while retail property raised £26m, with an average yield of 8.5%. The average lot size was £462,000.


The biggest lot under the hammer was a freehold building in Windsor, Berkshire, let to Barclays Bank until 2027. It sold for £4.3m, off a guide of £3.6m, reflecting a 4.4% yield.


Auctioneer Duncan Moir said: “The result underlines the on going appeal of quality stock to investors.”
