Residential property was in favour at Eddisons’ auctions in Manchester and Leeds, which raised a total of £7.8m.
Some 139 lots were offered and 105 sold at the auctions held at Elland Road stadium in Leeds and Trafford Park Premier Inn, Greater Manchester, on 6 and 4 December respectively, reflecting a 76% success rate.
Eddisons associate director Robert Limbert said there was strong demand for both tenanted and vacant residential property, with 87% of lots in that sector selling.
“This was an excellent sale to complete what has been a very successful auction year.
“The room was extremely busy from first lot to last, as buyers responded positively to the sensibly priced stock, which was seen as offering good value for money.’
Notable lots included a 1.9-acre residential development site in Worsbrough, South Yorkshire, which sold for £123,000 off a guide of £100,000-plus. A mixed retail and residential property generating £16,980 pa, sold for £148,000 from a guide of £135,000.
