Crown’s Somerset scheme approved

The Crown Estate’s plans for a 630-home residential scheme on its Taunton estate in Somerset have been given consent.


Plans for the Nerrols site also include a local centre, shops and public realms works.


The Nerrols site is part of he Crown’s Taunton estate, which comprises more than 9,884 acres of land, including 24 farms and 100 homes.


Steve Melligan, the Crown’s strategic land manager, said: “We are delighted to have been granted consent for our Nerrols scheme [by Taunton Deane borough council]. With consent now granted, we will look to find a development partner to take forward the first phase of the scheme.”
