Henry Boot has submitted a planning application for a £50m retail and leisure development in Daventry town centre, Northamptonshire.
The Mulberry Place proposals include 100,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, a new six-screen cinema, an 80,000 sq ft supermarket and 40,000 sq ft of bulky goods space. Also planned are restaurants and cafés and a new library on the Chapel Lane car park site with 250 car parking spaces.
Plans for the scheme had been on the back burner owing to the economic downturn.
Alan Jones of Henry Boot Developments said: “The scheme has continued to evolve over the past few years in response to the changing market conditions. We are now confident that the proposal put forward is highly deliverable and responds to current occupier demands.”
Daventry council will now consider the application. Work is due to start on site in 2014, subject to consent.
Knight Frank and Savills advised Henry Boot.
