A McCain factory has been accused of jeopardising houses on a Scarborough cliff top.
A report commissioned by the local residents’ association suggested the instability of the cliff at Knipe Point, where hundreds of tons of earth crashed on Monday, could have been caused by leaks from pipes carrying effluent from the plant. Three properties face demolition. McCain blamed geological conditions.
