BP has confirmed it has signed a prelet for 135,000 sq ft of offices at New Square, Bedfont Lakes, near Heathrow.
Subject to planning, the oil giant will be have access to the former IBM headquarters from June 2014 when its refurbishment is complete.
It is believed to be paying £28.50 per sq ft to landlord Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. The deal represents the largest transaction in the Heathrow market for more than five years.
The offices will be in addition to the 68,000 sq ft it acquired at New Square in November 2011.
Jeremy Rodale, partner in national markets office agency for Strutt & Parker, which acted for SWIP alongside Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “The deal represents the largest letting in Heathrow and the third-largest letting in the whole of the M4 corridor in the last five years.”
