Catella launches German debt advisory

Catella has launched debt advisory services for its German operations and appointed Simone Schmidt as head of the German financing advisory services unit.

She joins from Ersten Abwicklungsanstal, the property liquidation unit of the German bank WestLB.

Catella Property Corporate Finance will offer finance structuring and advisory services including new or refinancing facilities as well as restructuring and extension negotiations. The company will procure senior or mezzanine loans as well as equity capital for German and foreign property investors.

Catella has already advised on transactions worth €190m on finance matters in 2012.

“During 2012, we began the strategic work on harmonising our service offering in all countries. Germany is an important European market, and also one in which we perceive growth potential for Catella. Thus, it is natural that one of the first investments is being made in Germany. We are extremely pleased to have recruited Simone Schmidt, with her cutting-edge expertise and broad experience from the financing area, to lead the work,” said Anders Palmgren, Catella’s head of corporate finance.
