Eddisons’ Brown to head Countrywide

Andrew Brown, head of North West property auctions at Eddisons,­ is to become managing director of Countrywide Property Auctions.


Brown, 36, will relocate from Manchester to Chelmsford, Essex, where the Countrywide Property Auctions’ team is based.


He will start his new role on 18 March after almost nine years with Eddisons.


Mark Tanton, the current managing director at Countrywide Property Auctions, has been appointed principal auctioneer­ at the firm.


Brown said: “I am delighted to be joining Countrywide Property Auctions. I am very excited by the opportunities that lie ahead working for such a well-respected organisation within the property industry.”


Countrywide last month revealed plans to raise £200m through an IPO, with chief executive Grenville Turner saying every part of the business was growing.
