MAG nears £650m partner

MAG Airport City 570p

An Argent-led consortium is frontrunner to partner Manchester Airports Group for a £650m Airport City scheme.

A party comprising the developer, construction firm Carillion and the Greater Mansion Pension Fund is favourite to partner MAG on a mass redevelopment.

Plans for the heart of the Greater Manchester enterprise zone, include 1.5m sq ft of offices, 1.4m sq ft of logistics space, 100,000 sq ft of retail and leisure, and hotels.

CBRE was appointed in December last year to find MAG a joint venture partner for the 15-year project.

A MAG Property spokesman said: “No party has yet been selected for the final stage in our joint venture partner selection process. A number of bids have come from a range of international developers and funders.”
