Leeds leapt to the top of the UK office take-up league during the first quarter of 2013, according to the latest data from Egi.
The Yorkshire capital registered a take-up of almost 250,000 sq ft during the period, a massive 165% increase on Q1 2012.
The figure was also four times that of its nearest rival, Bristol, which registered take-up of 173,000 sq ft, a 40% increase on 2012.
London’s take up rose by 25% to just under 3.4m sq ft, helped by the 860,000 sq ft letting to Google at King’s Cross Central. However, apart from this the capital had a quiet quarter.
Leeds’ rise up the regional leaderboard was boosted by several big deals including the 71,000 sq ft letting to Dart at The Mint and a 61,000 sq ft prelet to KPMG at 1 Sovereign Square.
