Superdry expands in Silverburn

Hammerson has confirmed a new letting to Superdry to upsize into a 7,592 sq ft store at Silverburn near Glasgow.

The fashion group has signed a new 10-year lease on the store, which is almost twice as large as its current 4,500 sq ft shop at the mall. The new store will open this summer.

Earlier this year, Hammerson secured planning consent for a 200,000 sq ft leisure extension.

Supergroup chief executive Julian Dunkerton said: “The store will contain some of the key elements from Regent Street, and will really bring the Superdry brand to life.”

Martin Plocica, director UK shopping centres at Hammerson, added: “Superdry’s decision to create an impressive new flagship at Silverburn reflects the centre’s position as the destination of choice in the region for brands and consumers alike.”

CBRE and Culverwell acted for Hammerson; Jones Lang LaSalle advised Superdry.
