Henderson expands in China

Henderson Global Investors has expanded its Asian business with the appointment of Tony He as director of property in China.

He will be based in Henderson’s Beijing office and will be responsible for developing Henderson’s investment management franchise in China to domestic and international investors.

Previously He worked at Tesco Property China where he was a finance director and also supported the launch of Tesco’s property business in China. Before that he worked for developer Sun Hung Kai property.

Henderson’s director of property Asia, Chris Reilly, said: “Tony has built up a wealth of experience across the Asia Pacific market over the past 20 years and joins Henderson with a strong track record. The experience, expertise and network that he brings will significantly strengthen our capabilities in the region as we endeavour to source capital and financing throughout the region, in line with our ambitious growth plans.

“Our team in place in Asia now boasts the full range of essential skills including fund management, investment, development, asset management and finance. We are fully equipped to apply these skills to our existing portfolio, while also scoping the market for new investment opportunities.”
