Berkeley homes in on City

Berkeley-Group-City-Road-scheme-570

Tony Pidgley’s Berkeley Group has unveiled plans for a large mixed-use scheme on City Road, EC1.

The firm has lodged proposals with Islington council for four new buildings ranging from seven to nine storeys and two towers of 42 and 36 floors to provide a total of 995 homes.

The development also comprises 53,800 sq ft of offices, affordable workspace, a relocated data centre, 39,300 sq ft of shops, a crèche and a 190-bedroom hotel.

Berkeley acquired the city centre regeneration site from Land Securities in May 2011.

Gerald Eve is advising on planning.
