Despite rain at the finish line, DTZ’s first bike week was a medal-worthy success.
The firm had set itself a target of collectively cycling 10,557 miles – the distance from London to its parent company HQ in Sydney – and more than doubled the distance, racking up a total of 21,960 miles. In the process staff and clients raised £35,000 for LandAid.
Foul weather kept competitors off the track at the wrap event at London’s Herne Hill velodrome but instead staff and clients Rollapuluza’d their contribution to the total.
Meanwhile, in the Midlands more than 30 people cycled from Birmingham to Cheltenham. In Scotland there was mountain biking in the Tweed Valley, while in Wales 29 riders, including 16 clients, raced around Newport Velodrome.
Earlier in the week DTZ’s executive leadership team rode Boris bikes around the Square Mile and one intrepid DTZer cycled 410 miles to Bordeaux.
