Skanska Project Development, under the Workplaces by Skanska banner, has started its office development scheme at 66 Queen Square in Bristol.
It is Skanska’s first development of this kind in the UK.
Situated in one of the city’s prime business locations, 66 Queen Square will comprise 5,667 m2 of grade A offices, incorporating a listed Georgian terrace.
One of just a few commercial developments starting in Bristol this year, the project has sustainability features for long-term energy efficiency, including solar shading and solar energy capture. The building is designed to meet BREEAM Excellent and EPC A (new build) and will be built with near-zero environmental impact using recycled materials and green construction methods.
Cecilia Fasth, executive vice president at Skanska UK, said: “66 Queen Square will have market-leading, sustainable credentials which translate into savings for tenants.”
Skanska acquired the site in October 2012 and plans to complete the building in 2015.
Alder King and Jones Lang LaSalle are letting agents for the scheme.
