Hounslow unveils office and resi ambitions

Hounslow council has proposed 2m sq ft of new offices and 7,800 homes in its local plan for the borough.

The 15-year development pipeline plan includes 7,800 new homes for the Hounslow and Brentford areas; extra office space; supporting the development of a new stadium for Brentford Football Club; and the regeneration of Hounslow and Brentford town centres.

Opposition to further runway or terminal capacity at Heathrow Airport, is also noted in the document.

Steve Curran, Hounslow council’s lead member for housing, planning and regeneration, said: “We need to make sure that the local planning system can respond positively to change; promotes high quality development and regeneration; protects what local communities value the most, and makes sure we have the services and infrastructure in place to make our communities sustainable in the long term.”

The public consultation on the local plan will run until 26 July.
