John Lewis is close to agreeing a deal with Westfield to open at the developer’s Shepherd’s Bush, west London, complex.
The department store group and owner of Waitrose has department stores in Oxford Street, in London’s West End, at Brent Cross, in north London and at Westfield’s Stratford City development next to the Olympic Park. John Lewis is also developing stores in Birmingham and York and it is eying Manchester and Guildford, Surrey. John Lewis is thought to have held talks with Westfield and Hammerson about anchoring planned developments in Croydon, south London.
