Grosvenor dons Oxford project

Oxford city council and Grosvenor Britain and Ireland have secured a resolution to grant outline approval for 885 homes at Barton in Oxford.

The plans being brought forward by the council and Grosvenor in partnership include up to 885 homes of which 40% are affordable as well as shops, a hotel, a park, a school and other community facilities.

Councillor Bob Price, leader of Oxford council, said: “The approval is a fantastic step forward in delivering a vibrant and exemplar new sustainable community in Oxford.”

Grosvenor project director Ed Skeates added: “This is a very important milestone for the project and will provide much-needed homes, together with sporting, retail and community facilities that will complement existing Barton, Northway and Headington.

“Great care has been taken with the design and layout, emphasising the link to existing and new parks and natural features to make this a very unique place.

“We will be taking the first phase to the market in the forthcoming months and the planning is a clear note of confidence to the market that this project is on track to deliver.”
