LandAid Day gets everyone involved

From gorging on doughnuts to getting soaked in the stocks, property’s great and good came out in force for LandAid Day 2013.


More than 3,000 people from 50 organisations found novel ways to?take part in the fourth annual fundraising day in the hope of surpassing last year’s total of £83,000.


Knight Frank senior partner Alistair Elliott nobly took sodden sponges and cheeky bucket splurges in the chilly stocks.


Cushman & Wakefield employees ?took part in competitive ping pong, ?GVA perfected pasta making and, over at DTZ, staff gobbled doughnuts.


At the main event, the Mission Possible treasure hunt, even the prime minister’s pad didn’t escape being papped.


LandAid chief executive Joanna Averley said: “There was a real driving energy behind wanting to get involved and having fun while doing it. Thank you so much to everyone.”


Here at Estates Gazette, we conducted a good old-fashioned cake sale and held our first ever tweetathon, raising more than £1,000.


LAH Property Marketing donated £1 every time a visitor thanked the team for conducting a viewing, raising £600.


Other firms added to the day’s all-round craziness by doing everything from cycling to rowing, sleuthing and roulette spinning.
