Soaring demand for food outlets boosted Acuitus’s commercial auction, which saw a total of £29.1m raised.
?A total of 42 lots sold, reflecting a 73% success rate. The sale, at the Millennium Hotel in Grosvenor Square, W1, saw a 2,300 sq ft drive-through McDonald’s in Romford, Essex, sell for £1.6m – a 4.77% yield.
Other £1m-plus lots included a Starbucks at Wisley North service station in Surrey, which sold for just over £1m – a 6.75% yield – and a 3,000 sq ft Café Rouge in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, which sold for £1.4m – a yield of 6.05%.
Burger Kings in Erdington, near Birmingham, and in Hillington retail park in Middlesex sold for £995,000 and £755,000 respectively.
