Prologis has signed a build-to-suit agreement with food service provider Brake Bros and Standard Life to develop and forward fund a 172,600 sq ft regional distribution centre in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire.
The shed, at Prologis M8 in Newhouse, will be a multi-temperature facility allowing Brake Bros to consolidate its Glasgow operations into one building.
The building will be operational by October 2014, when Brake Bros will take a 25-year lease.
The agreement allows Brake Bros the flexibility to expand the facility by a further 50,000 sq ft in the future.
Prologis managing director Andrew Griffiths said the move was part of a “rationalisation” of the Prologis landbank.
Cushman & Wakefield and Colliers International acted for Prologis, Gerald Eve represented Brake Bros.
