Two major planning applications have been unanimously approved by the city plans panel at Leeds city council.
Buildings 5 & 6 at MEPC’s Wellington Place project, comprising 105,500 sq ft and 144,000 sq ft of office space respectively, have been approved.
MEPC is understood to be in talks with several parties on potential prelets, but chief executive Rick de Blaby has not ruled out speculative starts.
The second major approval today was Town Centre Securities’ 3 office buildings at Whitehall Riverside.
These comprise an eight storey, 198,000 sq ft office block at No 2, an eight-storey 114,000 sq ft block at No 3, a nine-storey block covering 82,000 sq ft of office space and a 10-storey car park.
TCS’s scheme on the other side of the city, Merrion House, recently secured a prelet of 170,000 sq ft to Leeds city council.
