L&G in Bucks office-to-resi project

Legal & General Property has secured planning consent from South Bucks district council for the conversion and new-build development of a former office building in Stoke Poges into more than 20 homes.

The redevelopment will provide 27 homes, ranging in size from two bedrooms to seven bedrooms.

The existing 24,000 sq ft property is located in a grade II listed villa together with an open-plan single floor extension. However, the space is no longer viable for office use. The extension will be demolished to create 24 new homes and the listed villa will be converted into two family homes. A listed cottage will also be redeveloped.

However, the space is no longer viable for office use.

Having gained planning consent, the property will now be offered for sale by informal tender through Colliers International.

James Whitehill, senior fund manager at Legal & General Property, said: “Having become redundant as a practical and modern working office environment, we are pleased to have been able to identify a way of carefully restoring the property to its original function, while also enhancing its period features and enabling the provision of new, high quality residential accommodation to meet the needs of the local area in the face of a growing shortage of UK housing stock.”
