Nordea Bank has commissioned a 46,000m2 headquarters to be developed at Ørestad North, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark, at a cost of DKr 873m (€117m).
Medical doctors’ pension fund PensionDanmark and Nordea Liv & Pension will own the asset, which is to comprise two buildings totalling 46,000m2, along with 14,000m2 of basement space.
Nordea, via its property arm Nordea Ejendomme, has signed a contract with construction company MT Højgaard which will build the project on a turnkey basis.
Nordea’s new headquarters will be a sustainable building which has been designed to achieve a LEED Platinum classification.
Construction will start at the end of March 2014, and the buildings are expected to be ready in the autumn of 2016.
