CBRE buys east London niche agency

CBRE has bought niche residential agency Alan Selby & Partners to capitalise on the growth prospects of the east London market.

As revealed by EGi, Alan Selby & Partners, which focuses on the Docklands, including Canary Wharf, and the City, will continue to operate from its office in Canary Wharf, E14. The four-strong team will report to CBRE’s residential chairman Mark Collins.

CBRE UK managing director Martin Samworth said: “We were looking for a way of extending that offer into east central [London] and for people who have a deep understanding of the market.”

Up to 50,000 homes are planned in east London, from Barking Riverside in the east to Ballymore’s City Island in the west, according to EG’s London Residential Research.
