A bid by Peel Investments and Taylor Wimpey to build 600 houses on greenfield sites in Salford has been rejected by councillors, despite a previous recommendation for approval.
At a planning meeting yesterday, the scheme was turned down amid objections from residents groups, including over the preservation of green space.
The scheme would include a new marina and retail space, as well as 600 homes over three green belt sites around Worsley.
